These five blocks are operated by Tullow Oil and are located close to the median line with UK Quad 44 which has had some remarkable success in discovering gas in the uppermost Carboniferous plays in combined structural and stratigraphic traps. GTO has a range of equities from 2 – 2.8% net equity across the blocks.
Other partners in the blocks with GTO Ltd and Tullow are XTO (soon to be Exxon Mobil), EBN and GasPlus. In 2011 the focus of work will be on evaluating the new 3D seismic data and producing a robust prospect inventory. Exploration drilling is expected to start in early 2012.
